Perfect spot for a summer camping holiday - 20th June 2021
Written by: Henri D - TripAdvisor.co.uk
Peaceful ( I was there during weekdays for 4 nights), spacious as not too busy, so no queues for facilities, lovely rustic facilities which I love, with fairy lights that come in when it gets dark giving the fields some ambience, great location on a hill top looking over Salcombe and the estuary. Walking distance from the pub in South Pool, a short drive to East Prawle and Gara Rock - beaches and cafes. A freezer for ice packs and a little shop were also very useful. Good friendly vibes. I'm planning my next trip here! COVID precautions in place, such as hand-sanitiser freely available whenever there was a need to touch anything such as a door or a gate

Absolutely love this site. We've been even twice in a month and will be returning soon. So relaxed and friendly. Great showers! Perfect location as it’s very central to a lot of beautiful places to visit and some fantastic walks. Lovely little shop on site. They have a quiet field for those who don’t want noise but even the other fields are not noisy just busier. Would definitely recommend to all!

Would recommend for families, groups. The owners were so welcoming. Lovely views, great eco facilities and a very relaxed feeling. Loads of lovely (steep!) walks around. We enjoyed Gararock, Salcombe on the boat too.

We had a fabulous stay, enjoying the brilliant location, gorgeous views and huge open space between campers. The toilet and showers were basic but fine with the warm weather. We’ll definitely be back

Lovely campsite in super location to enjoy salcombe and it’s beaches. We drove the 10 mins to mill beach car park each day and had a super time enjoying the beaches and cliff walk. Camp site was spacious and the farm shop super!

Stunning place - 2nd June 2021
Written by: Paul A - TripAdvisor.co.uk
We absolutely loved the weekend at Wilton Farm. It's close to Salcombe, but not too close to hear all the tourists and busy life. It's quiet and you can definitely relax there. Recommend 100%! We loved the simpleness of this place. Just you and nature.

Perfect one night stop; had the place to ourselves. Our ideal campsite!
Written by: pitchup.com
Unaware there was a campsite in South Pool (where we were married 42 yrs ago!) we absolutely fell for this place, on a perfect autumn evening. A warm welcome from Paul the farmer, we had the whole hilltop field to ourselves, with wonderful views of Salcombe, twinkling in the distance after a stunning sunset. Immaculate composting toilet, good hot shower, and washroom. At the moment the facilities are fine for a handful of campers, but the site has only been open since August, when Paul's daughter's wedding party guests camped there, and she suggested starting up a small campsite. Paul was happy for us to use our fire pit for the chilly clear starlit evening. In summary, our ideal campsite. Enjoy it now before it gets bigger!

idyllic location, warm welcome, shabby chic compost loo and shower shed!
Written by: pitchup.com
We have just returned from the most wonderful long weekend. This is a charming site in an idyllic rural location. Paul the Farmer offers the warmest of welcomes, with nothing being too much trouble. This is a real working farm with one field set aside for campers. The facilities are basic but charming. There is one compost loo and a hot shower. The wash shed has fresh hand towels, hand soap, and even candles and bunting provided! The little shed shop was well stocked everyday with bacon, milk and fresh veg.Simply help yourself and place payment in the honesty box! The location is quiet, remote and extremely beautiful with views across the estuary to Salcombe (pretty at night). Within walking distance (down a steep hill) is the picture postcard village of South Pool with village pub. During our stay, pizzas cooked on a wood fire were also available to buy from a villagers garden. A short drive away ( or one and half hours walk) is the lovely estuary beach at East Portlemouth. From here you can catch a ferry to Salcombe. This basic back to nature campsite is not for everyone, but WE LOVED IT!! and will definitely return. If you like to get away from modern life in a beautiful location then this is the site for you. It was wonderful to see our boys 11 and 13 enjoying the outdoor space. Fantastic location for walking, swimming and boating.

Excellent site with very clean facilities and great host.

The compost toilet was very clean and effective. Also, great shower and powder room. The sites are mostly level and there are wonderful views down a valley and of the lovely town of Salcombe. Great walks around the Kingsbridge estuary. Paul, our host, couldn't have been more obliging and there is a great farm shops with fruit and veg and sausages and bacon etc. There are no facilities other than the ablutions but this suited us as we like basic camping.

Wonderful landscape and first class hospitality; a really special site
Written by: pitchup.com
Stayed for six nights and had a magical holiday exploring the farm and local area. Great views, and we were made really welcome by our hosts. We enjoyed discovering the creek and 'The Glade' in particular; we also visited nearby towns and beaches - the children participated in the tug of war at a local regatta (the mud race was a bit out of our league!) We found the environmentally considerate ethos admirable. All the best bits about being outside, with the convenience of well kept facilities, and a farm shop.

Cracking site, clean, friendly farmer, stunning location
Written by: pitchup.com
Stayed ther for 2 nights last weekend, with friends. A mixed bunch from 12yrs to 64 year olds, two caravans, motorhome and a dog. Little used site, because the farmer is in his first year of doing so, he was amazing. Friendly, informative, took the kids on his quad bike, even put a trailer on his tractor and took all of us off , to his Glade area. Toilets and washing/ shower area, kept really clen. All in all, laid back, charming , beautifully sited area, we will definetley be going back
