Sweetsides Shepherd’s Hut – an exquisitely handcrafted hideaway, looking out over a serene Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
Looking for all the world like a welcoming haven you’ve just stumbled across whilst on a windswept Devon country walk, Sweetsides Shepherd’s Hut is something uniquely special.
For starters, its location is truly magnificent, overlooking the rolling Devon hills that surround the Salcombe Estuary – a setting designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with very good reason. Peaceful and unspoilt, this is the ideal backdrop for a couple looking for romantic reconnection, in a heavenly hideaway bespoke-crafted for comfort.
Lovingly created from reclaimed materials salvaged from the working farm, there is a warmly rustic feel from the moment you step inside the mostly wooden hut-on-wheels. Blissfully WiFi-free, you can’t help but feel relaxed as you survey your cosy space, complete with its antique woodburner and deliciously cosy bed surrounded by soft, twinkling lights.
You’ll also find a separate, window-fronted kitchen cabin and dining area, and adjoining shower room with plenty of piping hot water, and a compost toilet built on the hill.
After a silent night’s sleep and a hearty home-cooked breakfast, why not put on those walking shoes and take a ramble through the surrounding sheep-dotted meadow? There are so many walks to enjoy in this area that you’ll soon become addicted to the clean, fresh country air and the outstanding scenery to be found in every direction.
Simply fire up the barbecue, open up a chilled bottle of wine, and get to know each-other all over again, in the serene comfort of Sweetsides Shepherd’s Hut.
The Shepherds Hut is available for 2 people per night only, as the facilities are not designed to cope with the demands of more. If you are interested in making a booking then please head on over to our airbnb page:
